What skincare line should I be using?



There are TONS of great skincare products out there...but there are also some not so great ones either. I highly recommend a professional/medical grade skincare line. My favorites include Image Skincare, Skin Medica, iS Clinical and Elta MD. These are formulated to nourish, protect and promote healthy skin. Why do professional skincare products cost more than over the counter products?



Think of it as a skin-vestment. It's all about the quality; you get what you pay for. Professional products put more money into the ingredients and testing; over the counter products pay more for packaging and celebrity endorsements. The price may seem a little higher but in the long run you will see results and not to mention the pure, active ingredients are WAY better for your skin.



Why is Image Skincare or other professional lines being sold online at a lower cost?



Diversion is a practice in which products intended for a particular market (skincare professionals) are diverted to be sold in another (unauthorized online retailers), usually without the knowledge or permission of the brand owner (IMAGE Skincare). I highly advise against buying products online from places like Amazon, Ebay, Overstock, etc. These products could be expired or counterfeit. Plus isn't it just awesome to support your local esthetician?!



What is the most important skincare product to use?



Without a doubt SUNSCREEN! Nothing you put on your skin will work if you are not using sunscreen. The sun is responsible for 80% of premature aging. Fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots are all caused by sun exposure. SPF is now offered in many different forms such as matte, tinted, powdered, water proof, spray, etc. I'm happy to help if you need recommendations.



When starting new products, how long does it take to see results?



I wish over night! With some products you may immediately notice a difference in your skin. It may feel more hydrated, smoother or just overall refreshed. Realistically, I usually tell people it takes about 4 weeks for your skin to adjust to new products. That's why it's important not to be switching product lines constantly. For more problematic skin it may take 6-8 weeks and will work even better in conjunction with professional treatments. Keep in mind skincare is all about patience and consistency!
